Manuel Carvalho<\/strong> has traveled more than 12,000 kilometers in the interior of the Amazon. In Amazonia: a journey through an open wound on the planet<\/g> (ed. Ideais de Ler), the author takes us through territories of dense forest, soy plantations, indigenous villages, contaminated rivers and areas of illegal deforestation. Going back to the time of colonization and following the effects of neo-colonialism, this book shows us how mistakes are repeated and how the destruction of the Amazon is an environmental tragedy, but also a human one, made up of poverty, abandonment, greed and silence. <\/p>\n\n

This conversation will be attended by the author and director Renato Barbieri.<\/a><\/p>\n\n
