In the 1980s, Zita studied the Namib desert, combining science and local divinatory practices, until he disappeared under apartheid-related circumstances. From her notes, Gama has created a work that uses sound and music as tools of historical memory. Performed on the Acrux and Toha instruments, created by the composer, the concert fuses African polyrhythms, electronics and contemporary composition.
