Carpooling consists of the joint use of a car by several passengers who, as they have nearby origins and destinations (or similar routes), share trips using just one vehicle, the common carpooling: giving a lift or going for a ride. Carpooling is considered a sustainable mobility solution as it allows a more efficient use of private transport, the reduction of energy consumption as well as the minimization of the volume of car traffic, among others.
