Estado da Água presents six artistic proposals, developed in the village of Sabugueiro and the surrounding area of Serra da Estrela, as part of a program of artistic residencies carried out with financial support from DGArtes. The focus of the project is the interpretation of the presence of water in the landscape from approaches that express the diversity of artistic visions. Eunice Artur proposes a dive through graphic notation and sound exploration and composition. A journey based on sounds that are submerged and inaudible to humans; Iana Ferreira explores the water areas in the Sabugueiro area through photographs and video about the textures and experiences of water; Inês Teles is inspired by the sculptural behavior of the Annitella amelia larva, with the population of the Serra da Estrela being the only one known in Portugal, to produce her work; Joana Patrão uses video to focus on the transformations of water: from flow to snow, from fog to rain; Jorge Leal reveals the River Alva between Sabugueiro and Sandomil, from the dragonflies and damselflies that inhabit it, using drawing and sculpture; Thierry Ferreira approaches the theme of water from the perspective of built heritage, exploring its relationship with water through sculpture, drawing, photography and video.
