The documentary Silvestres y Carolina Castro Almeida and Miguel Cortes Costa, which was part of a special screening at CineEco – Serra da Estrela International Environmental Film Festival in 2024, is now on television. The premiere takes place on August 31st, at 12h a.m., on SIC.
A film produced by Lengalenga Filmes and Real Ficção, it follows the creation of a wildflower meadow in the city of Oeiras, a project designed to combat the decline of pollinators, in the historic Quinta do Marquês de Pombal. Between science and nature, there is also the capture and study of a barn owl that inhabits the space, a symbol of the resilience of wildlife in an urban environment. Silvestres invites viewers to reflect on the balance between urban development and environmental preservation, reinforcing the importance of collective action within their own communities.
Due to the relevance of the theme and its educational potential for different audiences, Silvestres was also included in the list of films available for the CineEco 2024 Extensions.

Miguel Cortes Costa had already attended CineEco in 2020, where he won previous awards, such as the Youth Award for TV Series and Reportage with Malcata – Tale of a Lonely Mountain.
