Lorenzo pallotta (1992) is a talented young director from Abruzzo, italy, trained at the sae institute in milan. He began his career working on university and independent film productions, focusing on documentaries, commercials, music videos, short films, and web series. Pallotta has collaborated with the production companies fedra film and fedra hub and served as an assistant director on paolo sorrentino’s films loro and piccole avventure romane. His debut short film, inumanamente, was selected for the 2016 milan film festival. His 2019 short luis was screened at several major festivals, including the festival européen du film court de brest (france), figari film fest (italy), visioni italiane (cineteca di bologna), and the medfilm festival (rome). His most recent short, las hadas (2021), premiered at fest – new directors new film festival in espinho, portugal. In 2021, pallotta presented his first feature-length documentary, sacro moderno – the children of the sleeping giant, at alice nella città. The film was later featured in festivals in taipei, turin, marienbad, and more. His second documentary, terra nova – the land of long shadows (2023), was selected for the torino film festival and the trento film festival 2024. Pallotta is known for his authentic cinematic voice, exploring human stories in marginalized contexts and remote areas, addressing complex and current themes.
