YELLOW CAKE

Tiago Melo
2026

In the town of Picuí, in the backlands of Paraíba, a team of scientists attempts to eradicate the deadly Aedes aegypti mosquito — the carrier of dengue fever — through a secret experiment known as Yellow Cake.
Using uranium extracted from the region, the project aims to sterilise the mosquitoes and halt the spread of the disease. Nuclear physicist Rúbia Ribeiro (Rejane Faria) is part of the experiment
But when the plan fails and everything spirals out of control, the determined Brazilian scientist must join forces with local miners to stop the catastrophe before it is too late.
