Rita Palma (born in Lisbon in 1975) studied Film (Cinematography and Directing) at the Higher School of Theatre and Cinema (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema), and Communication Sciences at FCSH-UNL (School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the NOVA University of Lisbon). She has directed short films, including A COSTUREIRA QUE ENGOLIU UM ALFINETE (2002), RETRATO DA VELHA ENQUANTO SENHORA (2005), and ODISSEIA (2007). Since 1996, she has regularly worked as an assistant director, screenwriter and editor. In 2013, she co-founded the production company Três Vinténs with Marta Pessoa and João Pinto Nogueira, having produced films such as OUTRA FORMA DE LUTA (2014), O MEDO À ESPREITA (2015), O LUGAR QUE OCUPAS (2016), DONZELA GUERREIRA (2020), UM NOME PARA O QUE SOU (2022), ROSINHA E OUTROS BICHOS DO MATO (2023), ISTO NÃO É UM JARDIM (2025), and O AVESSO DO MUNDO (2025) which is also her first feature film.
