Memória do Barro (Memory of Clay) is a visual spectacle about Clay and Women, expressed through a poetic and metaphorical language in which clay reveals itself as more than just a raw material.
A pottery workshop becomes the world of three female forces: the Woman in Black, the Potter, and the child who becomes the Apprentice. Through a silent dialogue, the relationship between the Potter and the Apprentice transcends the mere learning of a craft. Through their art, they mould a language of expression, complicity and resistance.
The play invites us to contemplate the presence of women in the world of pottery— a world where the daily routine, the harshness of the work and the silence of solitude are transformed into a memory of tenderness and dignity, shaped by hand in the face of the uncertainties of our times.
