A young maned wolf lives peacefully in the Brazilian Cerrado, until a tragedy forces her to wander aimlessly across the country. She finds a new home in the village of Lugar Nenhum, which is home to animals from all corners of Brazil. But the tragedies continue: her new home is threatened by a Hollywood film crew.
Details about the director Kimberly Palermo
Kimberly Palermo is a director, screenwriter and animator from Nova Iguaçu (Rio de Janeiro). She holds a degree in Cinema and Audiovisual Studies from the Universidade Federal Fluminense, where she is currently studying for a master’s degree. She has also directed the stop-motion short films “Cenas da Infância” (“Scenes from Childhood”, 2021) and “A Tragédia da Lobo-guará” (“The Tragedy of the Maned Wolf”, 2025), which have screened at various national and international festivals, including Curta Kinoforum, Festival do Rio, Festival Amérique Latine Biarritz, Animage, Stop Motion Our Fest, BitBang and the Prêmio Grande Otelo, among others. In 2024, her video art piece “Renitências” (“Resiliences”) was awarded as a highlight of the Mostra de Videoarte Stop Motion, and she was also one of the instructors on the “Confecção e animação de bonecos de lã” (“Making and Animating Wool Puppets”) workshop run by Rocambole Produções. She has worked in stop motion since 2021, having assisted with puppet-making on the short film “A Rede” (“The Net”, 2024, dir. Beatriz Lima) and with set design on the feature film “As Outras Pessoas” (“The Other People”, in production, dir. Pedro Iuá), both produced by Caseiras Produções.
